• From the moment we are born, society begins teaching us how to think, act, and communicate. This topic dives into culture (our shared beliefs, values, and symbols) and socialization (the lifelong process through which we learn the rules of our society). Students will discover how families, schools, media, and peers pass down cultural norms, and how these forces construct our identities, biases, and worldview.
